We are immensely proud that both W2 and our clients have won awards in recognition of the difference our training and coaching have made to their improved performance. This award was received jointly by W2 and Amec for the training programme FIRST Step ™ and the improvement it helped to deliver in Safety Performance and Responsibility for Safety. Over 4000 people attended and benefited from this course which energised people to grow a culture of safety leadership and taking personal responsibility for safety. 'Leadership is absolutely vital in achieving excellent safety performance. The "FIRST Step™" course has been hugely influential in developing the skills of our safety leaders and in facilitating a shift in culture. In our Rail business, accident rates have reduced by 40% since the introduction of the course and AMEC has reduced UK accident rates by two-thirds in the last 4 years. Feedback from delegates attending FIRST Step has been extremely positive with numerous examples of how they have applied their learning in practice. Many of the 4,500 people trained, carry their footprints to the next project wherever they are in the world. Managers have said that you can tell a “FIRST Stepper” in the way they conduct themselves. The logo, language, skills and tools of STEP 1 are embedded into the fabric of their companies.

Our client, the Britannia MP Compressor Project won this award for Management Commitment, challenging the norm during planning stages of the project, workforce involvement and development of STEP 1™ programme.
Our client, Marathon Oil, was given this award for their achievement in improving their safety culture. One of the key milestone was a bespoke Safety Leadership programme called ©InSights, designed by W2 for all of Marathon Oil's offshore workforce.
